Flash Sprout ๐ŸŒฑ

Get Sprout's firmware onto your ESP32 straight from this page โ€” plug in USB, click Install. No Arduino IDE, no toolchain, no command line.

No released firmware is available to flash from this page right now. Nothing is broken on your end โ€” a stable build hasn't been published yet. You can still build and flash from source: see FLASHING.md.

What you need
  1. A desktop or laptop (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
  2. Chrome or Edge โ€” any Chromium browser. Not Safari, Firefox, or a phone.
  3. A USB data cable (charge-only cables won't enumerate the board).

Keep the cable. Updating means flashing again from this page for now โ€” over-the-air updates that Sprout pulls down by itself aren't shipped yet.

The two prompts you'll see
  1. Serial-port chooser โ€” the browser asks which device to connect to. Pick the ESP32; it's usually labelled by its USB-serial chip ("CP2102 USB to UART Bridge", "Silicon Labs CP210x", or "USB-SERIAL CH340").
  2. "Erase device?" โ€” say yes for a fresh board; it does a clean install.

No port in the list? The USB-serial driver may be missing (CH340 boards sometimes need the WCH driver on Windows). The full walkthrough is in FLASHING.md.
